Free Meals will be expiring at the end of this school year.

Parents and Guardians of Camdenton School District:

Universal free school meal programs, initially introduced in March 2020 as the pandemic began, were not included in the $1.5 trillion spending bill passed by the Senate last week.

This means that free meals for all students will be expiring at the end of this school year.

In July, my office will post the link for families to apply for free or reduced meals on our website.  Families must fill out that application if they are hoping to qualify for free or reduced meals during the 2022-23 school year.  Families that don’t fill out the application, or do not qualify for free or reduced meals, will begin being charged for each meal their child consumes at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year.  This is applicable to all students at all buildings, even if these students or buildings have been free in the past.

Please take a look at your child’s lunch account and make sure that there isn’t a negative balance already for meals consumed before March 2020.  If there is a negative balance, please pay that as soon as possible and plan to have money on their account before school begins in August 2022.

If you have any questions about your child’s lunch account, please call the Camdenton Nutrition Office at 573 346 9234 or email me directly at [email protected].
